Night walk from Canary Wharf to Masthouse Terrace Pier

Caitlin documents our late night walk from Canary Wharf to Masthouse Terrace Pier where we caught the boat back to Greenland Pier (Canada Water) after our fantastic meal at the Royal China at Westferry Circus, Canary Wharf.

The walk itself took about 50 minutes.

My Frankie and Benny's dream

I woke up pissed off this morning, because I had a dream about Franky and Benny's restaurant!

Before I go into details, I need to explain, this was not a real experience, it was a dream. I do not go to Frankie and Benny's because the food there is terrible.

Why I was pissed off with my customer experience:

1. There was some sort of queing system you sometimes find at restaurants whereby a door person orders the queue into the building. The door person saw us as a group of about 4 people, but somehow managed to shove a couple between me, and the three others I was with.

2. I wasn't given a menu on the door. I reached the counter not knowing the range of food I had to choose from.

3. When I got to the counter, I asked what there was to choose from, and I was read a dessert menu. I hadn't ordered a main yet. They had no idea who I was and at what stage I was at.

4. The place was dirty, there were straws and bits of food and chips all over the floor, like a McDonalds.

5. When I finally ordered (steak and chips), the guy said "you want to change to steak and chips?" and I exclaimed "but I haven't ordered yet". He started reading out a previous order, which I knew wasn't mine (veggie burger?), and I exclaimed again "that's not even my order, you have no idea who I am!"

6. By the time my order was complete, because of the couple who pushed between me and my friends, my friends food had already been delivered to the table and they were tucking in as I approached.

I think it was at this point that I coughed up some huge phlegm which stuck like a string between the counter and I, and I was struggling to get rid of it/release it from either end. Anyone care to translate?

But yeah, I woke up in a real mood.

Home made baked beans on toast

We ran out of Baked Beans so I made my own. Quickly fried up the haricots and then added a tin of chopped tomato. You could blend these first if you decided that whole lumps of tomato aren't your style.

Then I added Worcestershire Sauce, Salt, Pepper, Tomato Puree, Fresh Basil and Tabasco.

Topped off with Extra Mature Cheddar.

The result? Needs more work, but nice nonetheless.
